Ricoh Caplio GX8 Review

Ricoh Caplio GX8 - Comments
At some points Ricoh drops a few stitches. The recording speed is somewhat slow, which diminishes the super fast response of the camera somewhat. The Ricoh GX8 only features three aperture values; a camera in this class should have had a more enhanced range. ISO range is impressive, however, because of digital noise only a few are functional. The rather strong compression and the enhanced clearness ask for an adjustment of the default settings of the Ricoh Caplio GX8 by softening the clearness for example. On top of it the RAW mode is missing, which partly gets covered by the availability of TIFF, however RAW is more or less a standard nowadays and has more advantages. Something else that could be improved is the set of standard AA batteries that come with the camera. It would look good on Ricoh if they also delivered some sort of Ricoh Caplio GX8 kit, inclusive a powerful Lithium Ion battery and a (quick) charger.
