Kodak EasyShare DX6490 Review
When we take a look at the total EasyShare concept, camera, docking station and printer station, we may say that it is a thoroughly thought through and effective concept. The EasyShare DX6490 is a camera that performs great within the concept and puts down the base for a new generation of high quality digital cameras. The camera has put the bar higher and aims at the advanced user. To my opinion it may be enhanced, more different settings and upgrading the USB 1.1 to USB 2.0 will be welcomed with open arms too. Beside that the video clip functions can be upgraded to a higher resolution so the EasyShare concept will feature a more complete multi-media experience. All in all a camera that offers an excellent photo quality, a large user's friendliness, the ideal camera for the starting photographer who wants a little more than just the standard photo.

The Kodak EasyShare V550 is a good camera offering true value for its money. Excellent image quality, simple operation and easy to carry around with you. The EasyShare V550 is not yet perfect, but which camera is? It's mainly details where the EasyShare V550 drops a stitch. In general it's an attractive digital camera, not only because of its appearance. The users of the EasyShare V550 benefit to the fullest from the EasyShare concept. It's a strong concept, but still leaving room for improvement. We're not overwhelmed and uncritical but the Kodak EasyShare V 550 is definitely an excellent choice for the starting photographer, or it will serve greatly as a second camera added to the rest of your photographic equipment.

Concluding, I believe that, with the introduction of the Kodak EasyShare V570, Kodak have ventured on to a path that is not necessarily a dead-end. The dual-lens system offers potential, and will appeal instantly to a certain share of consumers. It should be said, however, that the system has not yet fully matured, which leaves Kodak room for improvement. The operation is as one would expect of a Kodak EasyShare digital camera; straightforward and with the emphasis on user-friendliness. The negative sides of this camera seem to be evened out by its plus points. Therefore, we give Kodak the benefit of the doubt, and appreciate the concept that has brought attention to the Kodak EasyShare V570; the world's first digital compact camera with a dual-lens system.

Kodak EasyShare P880 - Exceptional camera
The Kodak P880 is an exceptional camera, something in the habit of Kodak. It combines two worlds and the fact that the camera doesn’t win a beauty contest is suddenly not important at all. Do not expect that the Kodak EasyShare P880 can simply replace a digital reflex camera in al its aspects. For this there are just too many differences from both sides and actually we even cannot speak of a real hybrid camera. There are reflex-like characteristics on the Kodak EasyShare P880, but the roots of a compact digital camera are still dominating. If you are looking for a digital camera with an exquisite quality at low sensitivities and a wide angle, the Kodak P880 is a good choice. Taking good pictures, just plain and simple, that is Kodak P880’s specialty.

Kodak EasyShare Z650 review - Good final results
We can be concise about the final results: they are pretty good. The image quality is good and the automatic white balance generally works well. The colours look realistic and powerful and the portrait setting also gives good results with very natural skin tones. Moreover, the camera has an all round character for the snap shot photographer with its large optical range. The Schneider Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens does what you would expect of a lens from such a renowned brand.

All in all we can conclude that the Kodak EasyShare V610 is an interesting camera with a nice zoom range. The road Kodak took with the V570 has led to the Kodak V610, but it is a pity that Kodak forgot to improve a few aspects along the way. Especially typical camera characteristics such as ISO and image stabilisation should be worked out again on the drawing board. At face value the Kodak EasyShare V610 stands for what it does, but looking at the competition we see that there are more possibilities.

As such I have mixed feelings about the Kodak P712 test. On one hand there is the ease of a compact design, great optical range and handy image stabilization, and it provides much user-friendliness. On the other hand there is the disappointing quality of the ISO and the limited ISO range, as well as the, sometimes slow, reaction speed of the camera. It makes me feel as if Kodak eased their way out at these points. Had it been so that the competition showed the same images I would have been milder in my judgment. But with the current technology and hardware/software quality a lot more is possible, and that is where Kodak fails. The Kodak EasyShare P712 is an attractive camera for the every day shots of the beginning photographer. The Kodak EasyShare P712 may certainly not be seen as the alternative to a digital SLR camera. The difference between them is just too big.

To be honest, I can imagine them having the Kodak V705 as an extra digital camera. When Kodak's first dual lens system camera was introduced, it was met by surprised and positive reactions. People are still positive about the dual lens system, especially when it comes with extreme wide-angle.
