2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED6 Review

The 2007 MazdaSpeed6 is a four-door sedan with seating for five, which carries an MSRP of $27,995 to $29,925. For the money, you'll get a 270 horsepower, 2.3-liter I4 under the hood configured as a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive. (You can also opt for a turbo-charged engine putting out 274 horsepower.) As well as being pleasingly powerful, the unit is reasonably efficient, registering 19 mpg for driving in town and 25 on the open road on a 15.9 gallon tank. (There are two trim levels, the base model or "Drive Sport" and the Drive Grand Touring. Both are all-wheel drive vehicles.)

The MazdaSpeed6 is equipped with ABS on all wheels as well as disc brakes. Both electronic brake distribution and electronic traction control technology are present. (As an anti-theft measure, the engine is also equipped with an immobilizer.) Both the front and rear bumpers are body color. Fog lights are present as are head lamps with a projector beam lens and Xenon bulbs. Opt for the luxury trim and you'll have leather on the doors and gear shift with alloy trim and carbon fiber on the dash. 2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 Review

The 2007 Mazdaspeed3 hatchback starts at an attractive $22,835 (base). Billed as a sport compact, the Mazdaspeed3 is, in a word hot. Under the hood a 2.3-liter turbo produces 263 hoursepower allowing the vehicle to make the zero to sixty jump in under six seconds and roar up to 155 mph. Just because you can't afford a high-end sport sedan doesn't mean you have to be cut out of the power and performance game.

Sitting in the driver's seat you may forget you're driving a Mazda, and a compact at that. Black upholstery is complimented with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and shift knob. The instrument panel is also black matte and the pedals are aluminum. There's notarguing that the resulting look is sexy and aggressive, aimed at the heart of the driver who has longed for a sports car he could never afford. You still get enough space for five people, there's more than enough room to put the groceries in the back, but there's nothing ordinary or pedestrian about the Mazdasport3 or the way it makes you feel. Add a pocketbook friendly 20 mpg in town and 28 on the road and this one is an all around winner.

2008 Mazda Tribute Review

Knocked by some critics as an unnecessary addition to the Mazda line because of its chunky lines, especially when compared to the brand's much sportier CX-7, the 2008 Mazda Tribute, which is a re-branded, co-developed version of the Ford Escape with a few cosmetic differences (specifically the grille, bumpers and head- and taillights) returns the model to production after a year off.

Even with the hiatus, however, the 2008 Tribute is almost the same size as the previous models (2001-2006) with nearly identical power trains and interior space. It also still has seating for five, and four doors plus a back lift-gate with a glass window that flips open separately from the rest of the door.

This year's Tribute comes in i and s models and three trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring, with a gas/electric hybrid model to be offered in the latter two trims late in 2007. All the standard models are available with either front-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive, though the latter does not include low-range gearing. The i models come with a 2.3 liter, 153 horsepower, 4 cylinder engine, and the standard engine on the s model is a 3.0 liter, 200 horsepower V6. The front-wheel drive Sport version of the i model has options for either an automatic or manual transmission, while the others are all automatic.

The 2008 Mazda Tribute Hybrids come with a 2.3 liter, 133 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor (no plug required), as well as a CVT - continuously variable automatic transmission.

Safety features on the Tribute include the expected array of airbags (front, side curtain) as well as an anti-lock braking system, an anti-skid system, and traction control, the latter two items not available on the hybrid. Available upgrades include a sunroof, heated front seats, and leather upholstery, as well as optional advanced sound packages that go over and above the standard AM/FM radio/CD player/MP3 jack, 4-speaker system.

Where the 2008 Tribute excels is with storage space. The center console in the standard-engine models holds 10 CDs under the arm rest, and the hybrid's is rumored to be large enough to store a laptop. Aside from that, there are 29.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seats when they're up, or 66.3 when they're folded down.

The starting MSRPs of the 2008 Mazda Tribute (gas versions only) range from $18,900 to $26,270 depending on the model, and (again depending on trim level and transmission) estimated mileage varies between 17 and 20 mpg in the city, and between 22 and 28 mpg for freeway driving.

2007 Lincoln MKX Review

With the 2007 Lincoln MKX, the company makes its entry into the crossover market. The vehicle carries an MSRP of $34,795 to $36,445 and is as forward or all-wheel drive. Child seats are held in place by the LATCH anchoring system and the locks on the back doors are rated as child safe. A comprehensive array of air bags deployed by sensors to rate the severity of a crash protect occupants. These bags include two in the front, bags mounted in the seats to shield against side impact on both rows, and bags in the curtain postion covering the outboard seats. The 2007 Lincoln MKX offers 31.8 cubic feet of space for cargo, which can be expanded to 69 cubic feet with the second-row seats in the folded position.

All are equipped with a 239 horsepower, 4.6 liter, 16-valve V8 with an automatic transmission with four speeds and overdrive. Estimated fuel economy is 17 mpg city and 25 highway.

The 2007 Lincoln Town Car can be outfitted with a navigation system that is both voice and touch screen controlled. The unit, combining GPS tracking with DVD mapping, will guide the driver on a turn-by-turn basis and provide graphic maps. (Note that this system is not an option in either Alaska or Hawaii.)

2008 Lincoln Navigator Review

The 2008 Lincoln Navigator (also available as the Lincoln L) is a full-sized SUV classed as a luxury model, which features a 5.4-liter V8 (3 valve) producing 300 horsepower. The six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is approximately 7 percent more fuel efficient on the highway than standard four-speed automatics. (Available in 2 and 4WD.) MSRP range on the Navigator is $47,755 to $53,655.

Items that were optional on previous models have gone standard for the coming model year including the powered liftgate, powered folding third row seats, SIRIUS satellite radio, THX audio (fourteen speakers), and front seats that are both heated and cooled. A nice technological addition is a rear camera system that activates when the Navigator is placed in reverse. Additionally, the running boards can be powered, deploying when a side door is opened.

The Monochrome Limited Edition Package is also new for 2008, offering exterior accents that are body colored including the cladding on the lower body side, the lower grille, and the heated mirrors (that fold and have puddle lamps.) Although the front grille is still a rather flashy grid, the monochrome package does tone down the overall look of the Navigator, giving the vehicle a more polished, "classy" appearance. (Less of what some reviewers are calling "bling.")

Four exterior treatments are available in the monochrome package: White Chocolate Tri-coat, Black Clearcoat, Vapor Silver Clearcoat metallic, and Stone Green Clearcoat metallic. Inside the carpet and floormats are black with a choice of Stone or Camel seats featuring leather inserts in black as well as black piping. Look for a Lincoln logo to be stitched into each headrest. (The trim is Ebony wood.)

Additional options include the Elite Package, Trailer Tow Package, chrome aluminum wheels (20-inches), Premium Leather Seats, Rear Seat DVD, powered moonroof, and a chrome hood accent.

2008 Lincoln Mark LT Review

The 2008 Lincoln Mark LT pickup is available in two and four wheel drive with an MSRP range of $28,340 to $41,440. This four-door, luxury truck has room for five and relies on a 5.4-liter V8 (three valves per cylinder) producing 300 horsepower at 5,000 rpm. (An automatic transmission with four speeds and overdrive is standard.)

For the most part the 2008 is a carry over from the previous model year. New options include the capability for remote start and a rearview camera, a feature appearing on more and more vehicles as a matter of not just convenience but safety. On the LT the camera is mounted on the bezel of the tailgate handle with the display appearing the rearview mirror. (Sirius satellite radio, once an option, is now a standard feature on the Mark LT.)

The LT has an overall length of 223.8 inches and a height of 73.5 inches. Double wishbones are used for the front suspension with a coil-over-shock format. In the rear look for outboard shock absorbers and leaf springs. The Mark LT has a standard bed measuring 5.5 feet with an option for a long 6.5 foot bed. The 2WD model can tow 8,900 lbs., the 4WD 8,600.

Inside the LT's cabin, ebony wood is used as trim and an auto-dimming rearview mirror on the driver's side is a standard feature. DVD-based navigation is optional. Leather covers the seats, which are finished with pleats and include an insert with a quilted pattern. The instrument cluster is augmented with contrast stitching. (Available colors for the cabin include Pebble with Light Parchment, Black with Dove Gray, or Black with Ebony.)

In addition to its elegance and powerful performance, the 2008 Lincoln Mark LT features a full array of safety features included anti-lock all-disc brakes with electronic systems for brake-force distribution. In the front, dual airbags are deployed according to sensors that read crash severity and the presence or absence of a passenger. Although technically built on a Ford F-150 crew-cab body, don't expect an every day work pickup. The Mark LT more than lives up to its luxury designation.

2008 Lincoln MKZ Review

The 2008 Lincoln MKZ four-door, mid-sized luxury sedan has room for five and is available as both a FWD and AWD model. The MSRPs range from $30,175 to $32,045.

The FWD has a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood generating 263 horsepower. (Expected fuel economy with the unit is 19 mpg around town and 27 on the road.) For the AWD Lincoln used a 3.5-liter V6 producing 263 horsepower. (Eighteen miles per gallon in town, 26 on the highway.) Both models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.

For the coming model year Lincoln has added a host of standard features to a vehicle already known for sophistication, comfort, and convenience. Those features include Sirius Satellite Radio, premium leather upholstery, and heated and cooled driver and front passenger seats. Lincoln Sync, the exclusive Ford system of voice-activated communications and entertainment powered by Microsoft, heads the list of technological standard items. Sync employs both Bluetooth and USB connections to maximize the handsfree experience. Additionally, systems are in place to assist with rear parking and to monitor tire pressure.

The audio unit is an award-winning THX II system with a twelve-channel, 600-watt amplifier producing sound across an array of fourteen speakers and two subwoofers. The system can be programmed to play for three zones: driver, front seats and all seats and employs a six-disc CD changer as well as an AM/FM tuner. The Pioneer Navigation System uses touch-screen controls and includes voice-activation in the 2008 models.

The 2008 Lincoln MKZ is outfitted with an impressive range of safety features including an airbag array with units in the side position as well as curtains for the first and second rows. Air bag deployment is controlled by a system for occupant classification with weight gauges. Overall the MKZ is a high-performance, full-featured, and technologically advanced luxury sedan that sets a high standard for the competition.

2008 Lexus RX 350 Review

The 2008 Lexus RX 350 represents the third generation of the maker's luxury SUV built on a car chassis. It is a mid-sized vehicle with four doors, seating for five, and two available trim levels: front-wheel and all-wheel drive, respectively. Both versions come with a 3.5 liter, 270 horsepower V6 engine, and a five-speed automatic transmission that includes overdrive.

Aside from a bigger engine, this year's Lexus RX 350 isn't that different from the 2007 model. The front grille has been re-designed (Lexus says it has been "freshened") and the wheel wells are a bit more exaggerated, making the SUV look a little tougher, but other than that the only real changes are new door handles (chrome) and the 18-inch wheels with seven spokes which are optional while the standard wheels are 17 inches, and two new color choices that are now available for the body.

Inside the car, all the expected accessories are present. A six-disc CD changer is standard, while an optional entertainment system for the rear seats includes a 9-inch screen and a Mark Levinson audio system. A voice-activated navigational system and rear-view camera to assist with parking, are also available options. Other upgrades include cruise control, and windshield wipers with rain-sensing capability. The 2008 Lexus RX 350 also has a full appointment of protective airbags, including knee bags for the driver, and side airbags with roll-sensing technology. 2008 Lexus LS 600h Review

Who says you can't have a luxury hybrid? Certainly not Lexus. The 2008 Lexus LS 600h features two electric motors and a dual-stage continuously variable transmission (electronically controlled) that work together with a five-liter V8 to produce 430 horsepower. The combined performance is that of a six-liter V12.

Outfitted with full-time, all-wheel drive, the LS 600h has all the hybrid street cred it needs, qualifying for certification as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle. That means the emission levels come in under the competition's at a whopping 70 percent.

Safety levels are ramped up via the Lexus Advanced Pre-Collision system consisting of two cameras forward augmented by millimeter wave radar. There's a third camera sitting atop the steering column that keeps an "eye" on driver alertness, redirecting wayward attention with both visual and auditory alarms. If neither do the trick, the car brakes itself and enhances the steering ratio in the event evasive driving and high responsiveness are required.

Although many hybrid powertrains are noisy and cause annoying vibrations, the LS 600h was engineered to run silent, with levels coming in a good 50 percent under conventional automobiles. In the United States only the long-wheelbase edition will be available, but that means an extra five inches of legroom for the passengers in the back seat.

Luxury convenience options include four-zone air with purification, power sunshades on the rear doors, power headrests in the rear, a seating configuration for four including a rear console (fixed) and a fold out table, as well as a rear right seat that will recline to 45-degrees (including a multi-massage functions and a footrest.)

Technologically this one is no slouch either. The LS 600h has options for voice-activated navigation, Bluetooth, XM, rear-seat DVD, and a 450-watt surround sound audio system by Mark Levinson. Additionally, the LS 600h comes in as the first car in the world to be outfitted with front LEDs for the low beams.

Expect to drop some serious change on the 2008 Lexus LS 600h. It starts at $104,715 and can run as high as $121,000 when tricked out with the options. (That's approximately $30,000 above the gas version of the same vehicle.)

2007 Kia Spectra5 Review

For 2007 Kia re-tooled the Spectra5 to improve the ease of the vehicle's maneuverability and the level of comfort and quietness offered by this sporty little hatchback's ride. (The legroom for tall passengers who try to sit in the back is still a little cramped, but overall the cabin is spacious for a car of this class.)

Under the hood there's a 2-liter engine with four cylinders that can be configured as either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual (both with overdrive.) Expect to rack up 27 mpg for driving in town and 33 to 35 on the highway. That impressive degree of fuel economy is one of the big drawing points for the Spectra5 as is the price tag -- an opening MSRP of $15,995.

Aesthetically, you'll find a spoiler integrated in the front of the vehicle with an upgraded dashboard for the interior as well as a more powerful audio system than that offered in previous models. The suspension is sport-tuned and the airbag array includes six separate units.

Reviewers do complain about excessive engine noise during acceleration and the fact that ABS is not offered as a standard feature. Otherwise, you get good bang for the buck with the 2007 Kia Spectra5. It's a low-priced, flexible hatchback with good fuel-economy, a genre of automobile that's looking better and better in the face of high gasoline prices.

2007 Jeep Wrangler Review

There are six models of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler with the Unlimited editions featuring four-wheel drive. 2008 Jeep Commander Review

The 2008 Jeep Commander has not even appeared on the manufacturer's website yet, but there is already talk that it will be removed from the Jeep lineup after the 2009 model year.

The seven passenger Commander comes in three trim levels, Sport, Limited and Overland, each of which is available either as a 4x2 or a 4x4. The Sport comes with a 3.7 liter, 210 horsepower V6 engine providing 235 pounds/feet of torque. The default engine for the Limited is a 4.7 liter, 290 horsepower V8 providing 305 pounds/feet or torque and the Overland's V8 engine is a 5.7 liter with 330 horsepower that offers 375 pounds/feet of torque. The standard transmission for all trim levels is a five-speed automatic with overdrive.

The exterior of the 2008 Jeep Commander hasn't changed that much. Still one of the boxiest SUVs around, its standard features include fender flares and door handles that match the body color for a smoother line, a flip-up glass window in the back lift-gate, and heated power mirrors that fold against the body of the car. As well, there are fog lights, halogen head lights, a roof rack, and the traditional Jeep grille.

Interior features of the Jeep Commander are fairly typical. Aside from seating for seven, there's eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat, the second row bench splits into 40, 20, and 40% (again) sections to fold or tumble, and the rear-most seat is a 50/50 split bench. Air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and a "ParkSense" system to help when backing up are standard as well, as is the AM/FM radio / CD player with MP3 input jack and six speakers.

Safety features on the 2008 Jeep Commander include the expected LATCH child-seat restraint system, multi-stage airbags for the front seat, and side curtain airbags for all seats, and both traction control and stability control as well as an accident response system that turns off the fuel pump, lights the interior of the vehicle, and unlocks all the doors, if the airbags deploy.

Estimated fuel efficiency for the 2008 Jeep Commander ranges from 14-16 mpg in the city and 18-20 mpg on the highway, depending on the trim level chosen. The starting MSRP ranges from $27,415 for the 4x2 Sport to $44,445 for the 4x4 Overland.

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review

The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee promises to remain one of the top-selling mid-sized SUVs for the coming model year and is still one of the few vehicles in its class that can be outfitted with a diesel engine.

On the outside there are few changes over last year. The grille and headlights have been restyled, but only a purist would immediately recognize the difference. New options include 18" chrome wheels and high-intensity-discharge headlights. Inside look for slight differences in trim, especially on the door panels, console, and dash. Buyers who opt for the Overland trim package will get a steering-wheel rim in wood and leather upholstery with unique piping. In basic appearance inside and out, however, the two models years are nearly indistinguishable without a side-by-side comparison.

The real changes are in entertainment options and what's under the hood. The Grand Cherokee offers a number of engine options from a 3.7-liter V6 to a 3-liter diesel V6. This year, however, the 4.7-liter V8 has been beefed up with a greater compression ratio and an all-new induction system. The result is horsepower output of 305 with 334 lb-ft. of torque. (All engines come with a five-speed automatic and both 2WD and 4WD configurations are available.)

A new option for 2008 is the Sirius Backseat TV system that includes two roof antennas and a satellite video receiver to pipe in Nickelodeon, Disney, and the Cartoon Network. There's a rear video screen and shows also appear on the screen of the optional MyGIG navigation radio, but only when the vehicle is in "park." (The MyGig system comes with a 20gb hard drive for storing photos and music and includes GPS navigation.)

In addition to the standard array of airbags, look for anti-lock brakes (all disc), electronic stability control, Hill Descent Control, and Hill Start Assist. Both a rear view camera and rear parking sensors are on the list of options. Fuel economy on the model isn't great, anywhere from 11 to 18 around town and 14 to 23 on the highway. The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee carries an MSRP range of $28,520 to $43,400 and gets high marks for safety, comfort, and power.

2007 Jaguar XK-Series Review

The 2007 Jaguar XK Coupe starts from $75,500. This Jag is beautiful inside and out with a 300 horsepower, 4.2 liter engine under the hood with an automatic transmission (six speeds.) The standard wheels are the eighteen-inch Venus design with nineteen-inch Carelia, nineteen-inch chrome Sabre, and twenty-inch Senta wheels optional.

Occupants are protected by two-level air bags as well as bags mounted in the seats. Systems for control of vehicle stability, suspension, and monitoring of the tire pressure add additional layers of safety. Entry via a remote is standard.

The rear spoiler painted to match the coupe's body coupled with the power side vents give the XK an aura of sophistication. The side windows have a bright finish as does the trunk plint and the double tailpipes. Move to the interior and you'll find pliable, soft leather seats with ten levels of adjustment for both the driver and the front passenger. Trim of glossy, burled walnut or popular with a satin finish is available. The central seven-inch touchscreen provides simple access to controls for the sound system, mobile phone options, temperature control, navigations, and other options tailored to your specific driving needs.

The 2007 Jaguar XK Coupe will achieve zero to sixty in 5.9 seconds; the convertible in six seconds. The XKR will make the jump in 4.9 seconds, with the convertible requiring 5 seconds. Estimated fuel consumption on the XKs is 18 city and 27 highway. Calculations on the XKRs are pending.

2007 Jaguar X-Type Review

The 2007 Jaguar X-Type is available in the 3.0 from $34,995 and the Sportwagon from $39,995. The 3.0 is powered by a three-liter, 227 horsepower V6 as an automatic transmission with five speeds. The wheels, measuring sixteen inches are constructed of alloy in the Antares desig with an option for Aruba or Bermuda.

Occupants are protected by double-level air bags as well as those mounted in the seats for coverage of impact to the side. Bags in the curtain position shield passengers in the outboard position to both the front and rear.

The moonroof can be controlled with a single touch. Seats are trimmed in premium leater with the trim on the door and console featuring sapele wood. The audio combo unit has 120-watts of power and there is an option for an entertainment system (DVD-based) for backseat passengers that plays across double, seven-inch screens (LCD.)

The 2007 Jaguar X-Type Sportwagon has seventeen-inch Bermuda wheels and silver rails on the roof that are fixed. The Aline audio unit has 320-watts of power and includes a radio (AM/FM) and a CD player.

2008 Jaguar S-Type Review

In its last model year, the 2008 Jaguar S-Type arrives largely unchanged from last year's model, with just a few cosmetic alterations to catch the fancy of new buyers. It will be replaced by the Jaguar XF for the 2009 model year.

The S-Type, Jaguar's mid-sized offering both price- and size-wise, comes in three different versions, each with it's own engine. The base model comes with a 235 horsepower, 3.0 liter V6 engine, with the next level up offering a 300 horsepower, 4.2 liter V8. The highest trimmed R model comes with a V8 engine as well, but it's supercharged and has 400 horsepower. The transmission is the same on all three trims: a ZF six-speed automatic, with traction control standard.

Cosmetic changes are the real differences between the 2008 Jaguar S Type and last year's version. All trims now have the same bumper as previous year's R editions, and have wheels that are an inch larger than last year, 18 and 19 inches, respectively. As well, the grille sports a circular Jaguar badge and features horizontal lines with slimmer vertical ones. The tail lights have been redesigned to look more high tech, and instead of fog lights, the R edition has mesh inserts which allow air to reach the oil coolers. (The R edition also has twin tailpipes, a spoiler on the trunk, and xenon head lights, while the other trims do not.)

Inside the Jaguar S-Type, there is leather-trimmed seating for five, with chronograph-inspired gauges, and burl walnut veneer. There's also an upgrade to the Satin Edition, which includes a leather steering wheel and shifter knob, as well as access to limited-edition paint colors for the exterior. Climate control has dual zone capability, and the power-adjustable steering wheel is a standard feature, as are rain-sensing windshield wipers and a reverse parking control system. Cruise control is available either on it's own or as part of the luxury package on the R edition. While adjustable pedals were a standard feature last year, they've been removed from the 2008 model.

Safety features of the 2008 Jaguar S-Type include the maker's proprietary adaptive restraint system, as well as side-impact and side-curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a stability control system, all standard.

Estimated fuel efficiency of the Jaguar S-Type varies between 15-17 mpg in the city to 22-26 mpg on open highway. Starting MSRPs range from $48,335 - $64,335.

2008 Jaguar XJ-Series Review

The 2008 Jaguar XJ series sails into this model year still the flagship of the Jaguar marque, but with little to differentiate it from last year's version except for a narrower air dam in the front, which is a better match to the existing rounded grille. As well, there are dedicated fog light ports flanking the air dam, and gills (Jaguar calls them "power vents") have been inserted just in front of the front doors. As with previous models, the XJ features aluminum construction and an air suspension that can automatically lower and balance the car.

Under the hood of the XJ, there's the standard 300 horsepower, 4.2 liter V8 engine providing 310 pounds/feet of torque, or the XJR's supercharged version of the same engine, which offers 400 horsepower and 413 pounds/feet of torque. Either way, there's a six-speed transmission, traction control, and an electronic stability system, with all-disc anti-lock brakes, front- side- and side-curtain airbags rounding out the safety features.

Inside the 2008 Jaguar XJ, there are re-designed front seat-backs that allow additional knee clearance for back-seat passengers, and heated seats have become standard, while cooling for them is optional. Climate control is dual-zone, and the front seats have power adjustability. As well, Bluetooth connectivity that stores information for up to five cell phones has been added to this year's model, and rain-sensing windshield wipers are standard, as are adjustable pedals.

The Jaguar XJ has a 22-gallon gas tank that requires premium unleaded fuel, and offers fuel efficiency that ranges from 15/16 mpg in the city to 22/25 mpg on the highway, depending on the engine in the car.

2007 Hyundai Veracruz Review

The seven-passenger 2007 Hyundai Veracruz SUV is the biggest vehicle in the Korean automaker's stable. Unlike the days of old when "Hyundai" was just a synonym for "cheap," the Veracruz limited edition's list of standard features include leather upholstery, climate control over two zones, parking sensors to the rear, heaters in the seats, and a tailgate with power (among other amenities.)

Look under the hood and you'll find a V6 configured as a six-speed automatic (that can be shifted manually) pumping out 260 horsepower. Test drives show the Veracruz has good acceleration and responsive steering, traits that compliment the overal smoothless of the SUVs ride.

Reviewers have reacted well to the vehicle's handling and safety features as well as the ease with which passengers can get in and out of the second and third rows. Both fold flat by the way, yielding up an impressive 86.8 cubic feet of flexible room for cargo.

The Veracruz stacks up beautifully against the mid-sized crossover competition against which it's aimed. Compare it to the Pilot by Honda, Toyota's Highlander, the Outlook by Saturn, Ford's Edge, and the Lexus RX350. You won't find the Hyundai lacking. Expect to spend between $26,305 to $34,005 for the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz. You'll get gas consumption of 18 mpgs for your in-town driving and 24 when you hit the open road.
