2007 Ford Edge Review

The 2007 Ford Edge opens with an MSRP of $25,995 for the SE, jumping to $27,990 for the SEL and $29,745 for the SEL Plus. With seating for five, the Edge has 69.9 cubic feet of space posterior to the first row and 32.1 to the second. Towing capacity is 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the optional package (Class II).

The Edge is outfitted with a 3.5 liter, 24-valve V6 and an automatic transmission with six speeds. The engine carries 265 horsepower and delivers 18 mpg city and 25 highway for FWD with 17/24 in AWD. The brakes are power all-wheel disc with anti-locking technology.

A combo unit including capability for MP3 playback is standard on the SE and jumps to a changer in the dash capable of handling six CDs and controls on the steering wheel on the SEL and SEL Plus. Navigation based on DVD data is optional on the SEL and SEL Plus with a premium option for an Audiophile Sound System pumping across nine speakers. Backseat occupants can enjoy a DVD-based entertainment feature as an option on the SEL and SEL Plus (but not on models with the panoramic Vista Roof.) SIRIUS Satellite Radio is an available extra on all models.

The 2007 Ford Edge offers stability control against roll-over accidents. Occupants are protected with two-stage airbags and a sensor for the driver as well as for the severity of a potential collision.
