2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED6 Review

The 2007 MazdaSpeed6 is a four-door sedan with seating for five, which carries an MSRP of $27,995 to $29,925. For the money, you'll get a 270 horsepower, 2.3-liter I4 under the hood configured as a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive. (You can also opt for a turbo-charged engine putting out 274 horsepower.) As well as being pleasingly powerful, the unit is reasonably efficient, registering 19 mpg for driving in town and 25 on the open road on a 15.9 gallon tank. (There are two trim levels, the base model or "Drive Sport" and the Drive Grand Touring. Both are all-wheel drive vehicles.)

The MazdaSpeed6 is equipped with ABS on all wheels as well as disc brakes. Both electronic brake distribution and electronic traction control technology are present. (As an anti-theft measure, the engine is also equipped with an immobilizer.) Both the front and rear bumpers are body color. Fog lights are present as are head lamps with a projector beam lens and Xenon bulbs. Opt for the luxury trim and you'll have leather on the doors and gear shift with alloy trim and carbon fiber on the dash. The audio unit is a Bose combo unit (seven speakers) whose changer can handle six discs. (Extra audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel for your convenience.)

The driver and passengers in the 2007 MazdaSpeed6 are protected by a full array of air bags controlled by sensors to both detect the number and weight of occupants and to deploy the bags in multiple stages. Overall interior volume is a comfortable 96.2 cubic feet with cargo space at 12.4 cubic feet. You'll find storage compartments in the dash, on the floor, and a partial compartment overhead.
