2007 Hummer H2 Review

The 2007 Hummer H2 combines the trademark awesome power of the Hummer brand for off-road driving with an interior that offers ample space and plentiful amenities. The H2 ($54,255) is available in the base model, the Adventure ($56,785), and the Luxury ($59,120) trim levels.

Under the hood you'll find a 325 horsepower V8 with an automatic transmission with four speeds. Control of the throttle is variable to achieve differing progressions for acceleration on the road and another for slower more rugged conditions. Fuel tank capacity on the H2 is 32 gallons.

In the cabin, the seats are trimmed in leather and offer eight levels of adjustment. Seats in both rows split and fold according to the 60/40 configuration. A single seat covered in vinyl can be added in the third row position, which will bring the vehicle's maximum carrying capacity to five. The H2 will clear obstacles of 9.7 inches and can drive through water at a depth of 20 inches. Towed loads can reach 6,700 lbs. and payloads 2,200 lbs.

Occupants in the 2007 Hummer H2 are protected by twin front airbags. Data is displayed on a central information unit and a year of the OnStar service is included. The remote provides access to the vehicle without the key and a panic button is included. Bose supplies the audio system, which plays over nine speakers. Rear passengers enjoy separate controls for audio playback as well as jacks for headphones. The mirror includes displays for direction and outside temperature and incorporates a transmitter to open garage doors. (There is also an option for the installation of a DVD-based system to the rear of the head rests.)
