2007 GMC Acadia Review

The 2007 GMC Acadia crossover carries an MSRP ranging from $29,495 to $35,610 and is available in the SLE and SLT models. Both have a 3.6 liter V6 engine generating 275 horsepower and using an estimated 18 mpg city and 26 highway (on the FWD models.)

The SLE includes the OnStar system with a subscription period of one year. Stability control is managed via the StabiliTrak system. The included audio package is a standard combo unit with the ability to play back MP3s. The standard upholstery is cloth. The twin exhaust has tips of chrome and the tires measure eighteen inches with wheels of aluminum. Fog lamps are a standard feature.

The SLT adds a changer to the audio unit that can handle up to six CDs. Both the driver and the front passenger enjoy power controls for seat positioning. The leather seats are heated for both occupants. The outer mirrors, painted to match the body, include turn signals.

The Acadia can hold up to eight occupants and has a measurable cargo space of 116.9 cubic feet. Seating options include bucket seats in the front that recline, captain's chairs for the second row as a standard feature, and benches for the second and third rows that fold according to the 60/40 arrangement. Occupants in the front seat are protected by a standard array of airbags with side bags and those in the curtain position also present to shield against side collisions. A parking assistance system using ultrasonic technology is an option.

Other available features on the 2007 GMC Acadia include a double sun roof, seating flexibility via a system called "Smartslide," navigation from DVDs, a liftgate with power controls, and audio controls positioned in the cargo area.
