2007 Ford F-150 Flareside Review

The 2007 Ford F-150 is available in eight models: XUL ($19,200), STUX ($21,905), XLUT ($24,205), FUX2 Sport Package ($29,555), FUX4 ($30,750), Lariat ($30,750), King Ranch Package ($36,350), and the Harley-Davidson ($37,210).

Available in regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew, seating capacity on the F-150 series is three to six. Engine options start with the 4.2 liter V6, a 202 horsepower engine offered as a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. The 4.6 liter V8 generates 248 horsepower and comes as an electronic automatic with four speeds. Finally, the 5.4 liter V8 has 300 horsepower and is also an automatic with four speeds and overdrive.

The maximum weight for handling a loaded trailer ranges from 8,500 to 15,000 lbs. depending on engine configuration and wheel base. Maximum ranges for payload limits run from 1,280 to 3,060. Both the driver and passenger in the front are protected by a comprehensive system of airbags. All-wheel brakes on the vehicle include systems for stability control and anti-locking.

The 2007 Ford F-150 XL has a standard AM/FM/clock combo while all other models are outfitted with an AM/FM/CD unit with a jack for auxiliary input. A changer in the dash capable of handling six discs and providing the ability to play back MP3s is an option on all models. Additional options include SIRIUS Satellite Radio (above the XL), a DVD system to the rear (above the STX), and Navigation Radio with a screen embedded in the dash and DVD (above the FX2 Sport Package.)
