2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Review

The 2007 Ford Sport Trac XLT has an MSRP of $24,990 while the Limited edition goes for $26,775. These five passenger vehicles are a bridge between the SUV concept and the style of a pick-up truck. Their measurable interior cargo volume comes to 44.4 cubic feet posterior to the front seat with the back seats folded.

Engine options are a four-liter V6 generating 210 horsepower (15 mpg city / 21 highway) as an automatic with five speeds and a 4.6-liter V8 producing 292 hp (15/21 for the 4 x 2, 14/20 for the 4 x 4) as an automatic with six speeds. (Towing capacity ranges from 1,350 to 1,290 lbs. for maximum payload weight with the maximum trailer weight set at 6,750 lbs.)

The Sport Tracs come standard with an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio combo. Additional sound options include an Audiophile unit, a system for navigation, a receiver for digital satellite audio, and a DVD system for the rear seat.

Safety features on the 2007 Ford Sport Trac include control to maintain stability in the event of a potential roll over as well as comprehensive air bag coverage with additional bags in the shotgun positions. The locks on the rear doors are rated as child safe while child seats are anchored in place with the standard LATCH system. Brakes are all wheel discs with ABS.
