2008 Mitsubishi Galant Review

The 2008 Mitsubishi Galant sedan offers a high level of performance and luxury across four models the DE ($19,899), ES ($20,999), GTS ($24,999), and Ralliart ($26,999). The DE and ES both have a 160 hp 2.4 liter MIVEC engine standard with a four-speed automatic transmission with Mitsubishi's own "Sportronic" manual gear selection technology. The GTS has a 230 hp, 3.8 liter V6 with a five-speed Sportronic transmission. The Ralliart is outfitted with a 258 hp, 2.8 liter MIVEC V6 with the five-speed automatic. Fuel mileage estimates are 23 city, 30 highway for the DE and ES and 18/27 for the GTS and Raliart. All models have a 17.7 gallon fuel tank.

Cargo volume across the line is 13.3 cubic feet with seating at it's capacity of five. The Galants are equipped with advanced multi-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side impact bags, and front and rear side curtain bags. The vehicles have child safety locks, a trunk release system, and the LATCH system for securing child safety seats. Other safety features include unibody construction, 5 mph front and rear bumpers, front and rear crumple zones, side impact door protection, and an engine immobilizer.

The 2008 Mitsubishi Galant DE features a 140-watt AM/FM/CD player with four speakers. The system in the ES and GTS includes six speakers and MP3 playback. The Ralliart offers a premium 360-watt Rockford Acoustic Design system with a digital signal processor and eight speakers.
