2008 Saturn VUE Review

The 2008 Saturn Vue has received a sporty exterior makeover for the new model year making it one of the most sleek, aerodynamic compact SUVs on the road. The Vue has an MSRP range of $20,770 to $28,770.

This latest edition of the Vue, which debuted in 2002, is all about the choices: six for the drivetrain, three for the engine, and three for the transmission. The engine options include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, a 3.5-liter six-cylinder, or a 3.6-liter six-cylinder with AWD. Expect to see fuel economy ranging from 16 to 19 miles per gallon around town and 22 to 26 on the road depending on configuration.

Although previous model years have not gotten high marks for interior looks and comfort, the 2008 offers stylish choices like two-tone finishes and matte chrome details for the gauges and vents. The driver's seat is adjustable to eight positions via power controls while the passenger has to make do with manual controls. In the back you'll find 29 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up and 56 when they're folded down.

Safety features include systems for stability control and monitoring of the tire pressure as well as an array of six total airbags. Additionally, the vehicle is outfitted with breakaway pedals to minimize foot and leg injuries in the event of a crash.

In addition to power locks, mirrors, and windows, the 2008 Saturn Vue is outfitted with a standard CD stereo combo unit with the ability to play MP3s. (There's also an option for XM Satellite Radio.)
