2007 Scion tC Review

The 2007 Scion tC (MSRP $16,980) is powered by a 161 hp, 2.4-liter, double overhead cam, 16-valve VVT-i, 4-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission is standard with a four-speed automatic transmission also available for an additional $800. Fuel economy is rated at 23 mpg city, 30 highway on the manual; 23/31 on the automatic. (Fuel capacity is 14.5 gallons.)

The tC has head room measuring 37.6 inches in the front, 36.6 rear with leg room of 41.6 and 33.6 respectively. Seating capacity is five with an overall passenger volume of 84.7 cubic feet. Cargo volume is 35.4.

Safety features on the tC include driver and passenger front airbags, as well as a knee-protection bag for the driver, in addition to anti-lock brakes, a system that monitors tire pressure, and a body designed to absorb impact force. The multi-function key fob includes keyless entry and panic mode, as well as a control that immobilizes the engine.

The standard audio system is a six-speaker Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3 combo. Air conditioning, powered windows and door locks, and powered outside mirrors are all standard, as are the moon roof and outside temperature gauge. In addition, the 2007 Scion tC features bucket seats in the front, and comes with cruise control and shades for the back windows.
