Audio options on the 2007 Hyundai Elantra include a 182-watt combo unit playing across six speakers or a premium system of 200-watts that includes a changer capable of handling six discs. Both MP3 capability and XM Satellite Radio are options.

2007 Hyundai Azera Review

The 2007 Hyundai Azera SE carries an MSRP of $24,535 with the Limited edition selling for $27,135. Both are powered by a 3.8 liter V6, generating 263 horsepower as an automatic transmission with five speeds and overdrive. The engine returns 19 mpg city and 28 highway on a 19.8 gallon fuel tank.

The 2007 Hyundai Accent is offered in the GS three-door sedan for $10,415; the SE three-door for $13,915; and as the GLS four-door for $12,565. All are outfitted with a 1.6 liter, sixteen-valve, four-cylinder (generation 110 horsepower) as both a manual transmission with five speeds or an automatic with four speeds (and overdrive.) 2008 Hyundai Sonata Review

The 2008 Hyundai Sonata comes in three trim levels, the base GLS, the SE, and the stylish, feature-rich Limited, all of which come with a choice of two engines. The standard configuration is a 162 horsepower, 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine while the optional upgrade, available on all three trims, is a 235 horsepower, 3.3 liter V-6. In previous model years, the V-6 was only available on upper-level trims. According to Hyundai, a Sonata with a V-6 engine can go from zero to 62 mph in under eight seconds.

The GLS and SE both come standard with a five-speed manual transmission, or an optional four-speed automatic with "Shiftronic" manual shifting. If a V-6 engine is chosen, the gearbox it's mated to is a five-speed "Shiftronic"-enabled automatic.

The 2008 Hyundai Sonata is both two inches taller, and two inches longer than last year's model, and has a wheelbase that is one inch longer than that of its predecessor. As well, it has jeweled projector-style head lights, and the dual exhausts on V-6 models are tipped with chrome. The standard wheels are 16 inches, but 17-inch wheels are available on SE and Limited models.

Inside the 2008 Sonata, there is seating for five, with a 60/40 split for the back seat, and a total of 16.3 feet of cargo volume. Distinctive features of this car include the side-opening trunk assists which don't take up valuable storage space inside.

Standard features include an XM radio/CD/MP3 player audio system and a tilting steering wheel, with the SE and Limited trims also including a six-disc CD changer, adding both telescoping functionality and audio controls to the steering column. While all trim levels come with an alarm, heated mirrors, cruise control, power windows, air conditioning, and a keyless entry system, leather upholstery and heated seats are options only available on the Limited version of the 2008 Hyundai Sonata, which also has a power drivers seat and a center arm rest that slides open. A moon roof is also available, as an optional feature.

The safety features on this year's Sonata include active head restraints and side-impact airbags for the front seats, and side curtain airbags as well. Four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes are a standard feature, as are the stability and traction control systems.

2007 Hummer H2 Review

The 2007 Hummer H2 combines the trademark awesome power of the Hummer brand for off-road driving with an interior that offers ample space and plentiful amenities. The H2 ($54,255) is available in the base model, the Adventure ($56,785), and the Luxury ($59,120) trim levels.

Under the hood you'll find a 325 horsepower V8 with an automatic transmission with four speeds. Control of the throttle is variable to achieve differing progressions for acceleration on the road and another for slower more rugged conditions. Fuel tank capacity on the H2 is 32 gallons.

In the cabin, the seats are trimmed in leather and offer eight levels of adjustment. Seats in both rows split and fold according to the 60/40 configuration. A single seat covered in vinyl can be added in the third row position, which will bring the vehicle's maximum carrying capacity to five. The H2 will clear obstacles of 9.7 inches and can drive through water at a depth of 20 inches. Towed loads can reach 6,700 lbs. and payloads 2,200 lbs.

Occupants in the 2007 Hummer H2 are protected by twin front airbags. Data is displayed on a central information unit and a year of the OnStar service is included. The remote provides access to the vehicle without the key and a panic button is included. Bose supplies the audio system, which plays over nine speakers. Rear passengers enjoy separate controls for audio playback as well as jacks for headphones. The mirror includes displays for direction and outside temperature and incorporates a transmitter to open garage doors. (There is also an option for the installation of a DVD-based system to the rear of the head rests.)

2008 Hummer H3 Review

Even when the model was first introduced two years ago, it was obvious that the smallest vehicle in Hummer's line-up was woefully underpowered. The 2008 Hummer H3 changes that - sort of. The base model still comes with a 3.7 liter, 242 horsepower five-cylinder in-line Vortec engine that provides 242 pounds/feet of torque. More exciting, however, is the souped up H3 Alpha, which has a 5.3 liter, 295 horsepower V8 engine, offering 317 pounds/feet of torque and 6,000 pounds of towing capacity (3,000 for the base model.) All H3's come standard with four-wheel-drive, traction control, and stability control, and a choice of either an automatic or manual transmission.

Inside the H3, there is little that is different from last year's model. The front seats are still bucket-style, while the back seat is a fairly standard 60/40 split bench, which means total occupancy is five people. While heated leather seats are an optional upgrade, cloth upholstery is standard, except for the steering wheel, which is wrapped in perforated leather. In the Alpha, there are "Alpha" badges on the front head restraints, and over the horn.

Other features of the 2008 Hummer H3 include remote entry, and three power outlets, as well as a basic AM/FM Radio/CD player. Available upgrades include a Monsoon sound system with a six CD changer, and the addition of either OnStar or a DVD-based navigational system.

Standard safety features include side-curtain airbags as well as anti-lock brakes and a tire-pressure monitoring system, as well as an optional rear-view camera, if the GPS system is purchased as well.

Unlike many SUVs, the 2008 Hummer H3 actually handles quite well off-road, and people who participate in off-road activities may want to know that this year's model can cross 16 inches of water at 20 mph, or, if it slows to 5 mph, it can ford water up to 2 feet deep.

Starting MSRPs are $30,080 for the base model H3, and $38,645 for the Alpha.

2008 Honda S2000 Review

While sports cars don't automatically trigger thoughts of safety, the 2008 Honda S2000 does have an array of safety features, including dual front airbags, race car safety belts, reinforced door beams, an non-skid braking system, and traction control.

Inside, its features include a bright red engine start button, power windows and door locks, cruise control, and an 8-speaker AM/FM CD audio system. As well, there's a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather trimmed seats, and cup holders for each passenger. Air conditioning, integrated roll bars, and a center storage console are also included, as well as an alloy shift knob, textured aluminum pedals, and a rear wind deflector.

Outside, the 2008 Honda S2000 has a powered soft top, a glass rear window with a defroster, a distant unlock system, and timed windshield wipers. A dual spiral horn, defoormable bumpers and an aluminum hood wrap up the package, making the 2008 Honda S2000 roadster a modern classic that's fun to drive, but still has the stability of being a Honda.

2007 Honda Ridgeline Review

On the 2007 Honda Ridgeline, 4-wheel drive is standard across the line, and combines with the engine power to give the Ridgeline the ability to tow up to 5,000 pounds, and its five-foot bed not only sports a lockable hidden trunk, but also has the ability to hold 4x8s flat between its wheel wells (or up to 1,000 pounds of anything else you might want to haul).

Other exterior features of the 2007 Ridgeline include timed windshield wipers, a distant unlock system, folding motorized side mirrors, embedded bed lights, heavy duty tow hooks, an invisible antenna, and privacy glass. Optional features, available at higher trim levels, include a tow hitch and wiring bridle, a security system, and a power moon roof.

Inside the Ridgelines five-passenger crew cab are many of Hondas usual safety and comfort features. 3-point safety belts for every seat begin the list, and it continues with front and front-side airbags, and side-curtain airbags with rollover sensors, all of which helped to earn Ridgelines five-star NHTSA NCAP crash test rating. Additionally, there are side-impact door beams, an anti-lock braking system, and traction control.

Comfort features include cup holders in the front and back seats, power windows (including the rear cabin window) and door locks, cruise control, and an adjustable steering column. As well, power outlets, map lights, sunglass holders, and an abundance of in-cab storage are standard on all 2007 Honda Ridgeline trucks.

2007 Honda Pilot Review

Strength is nothing without safety, so it's no surprise that the 2007 Honda Pilot comes fully packed with Hondas safety features, including anti-lock brakes, traction control, and side impact door beams, as well as front and front-side airbags, and three-row side-curtain airbags with rollover sensors. Additionally, the Pilot is child-friendly, with child-seat connect hardware and kid-proof rear door locks.

The 2007 Pilot has an exterior that is both stylish and sturdy. All trim levels are offered with timer sequenced windshield wipers (front and rear), invisible radio antenna, heat resistant green-tinted glass, and remote entry systems. Higher trim levels also include a power moon roof, roof rails, and fog lights.

Inside the 2007 Honda Pilot, environmental cooling (front and rear), power windows, power door and tailgate locks, and throttle control are all standard. Additional features standard across the line are cup holders in all three rows, a center console with a cell phone cradle, floor mats, power outlets (4 total) and grab bars with integrated map lights. Features available on higher trim levels include upper and pockets on the back of the front-row seats, a fold-down activity tray in the second row, and steering wheel-mounted controls for the audio system.

2007 Honda Odyssey Review

Exterior features of the 2007 Honda Odyssey begin with power side mirrors, a remote entry system, intermittent windshield wipers (front and rear) heat rejecting glass, and privacy glass in the rear. Higher trim levels have powered side doors, a powered tailgate, roof rails, and parking sensors.

Inside the Odyssey, comfort and convenience abound. All trim levels seat at least seven people, with select trim levels offering seating for eight. All come with some form of air conditioning manual front and rear in the base model, and tri-zone in the higher trim levels. Power windows, power door locks, and throttle control are standard across the line. Also standard are multiple cup holders (three per row, minimum), power outlets, vanity mirrors (passenger and driver), map lights, center tray tables, and in-floor storage. Optional features include a DVD projector for the back seats, integrated sunshades, and leather steering-wheel wraps, though tilting and telescopic steering columns, sunglass holders, and a 120-watt AM/FM radio/cd audio system are standard across the line.

Like its smaller cousin the Honda Fit, the Odyssey features a Magic Seat (60/40 split, flat fold), in this case as the third row of seats. In addition, the Odyssey has many of the standard Honda safety features, including 3-point safety belts for all seating positions, anti-lock brakes, and front and front-side airbags as well as three-row side-curtain airbags with rollover sensors.

2007 Honda Fit Review

Both trim levels of the 2007 Honda FIT come standard with a 5-speed manual transmission (5-speed automatic is available as an optional upgrade) and a 109 hp in-line 4-cylinder engine. As well, both have a full array of Honda safety features, including 3-point seat belts for all passengers, front, front side, and side curtain airbags, anti-lock breaks, side impact door beams, and childproof locks on the rear doors.

The FIT also has the usual Honda exterior features: power side windows, roof mounted antenna, multi-prismatic xenon headlights, dent-proof bumpers, timed windshield wipers and tinted glass. The Sport also includes fog lights, a rear spoiler, and a remote entry system.

Inside the car, motorized windows and door locks, environmental cooling, power outlets, and cup holders are standard on both models. The Sport also includes throttle control. And then theres the special back seat so special, in fact, that Honda calls it the Magic Seat and has trademarked the phrase. More than a simple 60/40 split back seat, the back seat in the 2007 Honda FIT has 4 distinct configurations. In Tall mode, the seat bottom flips upward, allowing for the storage of tall items, like bicycles, potted plants or framed artwork. Refresh mode allows the front seats to recline flat, meeting, rather than overlapping, the edge of the rear seat, perfect for quick naps in roadside rest areas, or camping in inclement weather. Long mode allows the front passenger seat to be folded down as well as the rear seat, for porting of long items think skis or ironing boards, and Utility mode is the most conventional folded-flat back seat configuration, for bulky cargo or household pets.

2007 Honda Element Review

The 2007 Honda Element comes with a 166 horsepower in-line 4-cylinder engine, with a 5-speed manual transmission as the standard, though automatic is available. 2-wheel drive is standard for the line, but the LX and EX are both available with 4-wheel drive as well.

Like the more compact Honda CR-V, the Element has a five-star crash-test rating from NCAP, though its rollover rating is only three stars. It still boasts all of Hondas standard safety features, however, including side impact door beams, front and front side air bags, and side curtain airbags with rollover sensors, as well as anti-lock breaks, traction control, and 3-point seat-belts at all seating positions.

Standard exterior features include side cargo doors, intermittent windshield wipers, remote entry, and power side mirrors, as well as green-tinted window glass, and privacy glass for the rear. In addition, 4-wheel drive models are available with a removable skylight.

Power windows and door locks, air conditioning, and rear ventilation windows are standard on all the 2007 Honda Element's trim levels, though vanity mirrors are not. Other interior features include lower instrument panel storage compartments, cup holders, and at least one power outlet. Map lights are available on higher trim levels.

2007 Honda CR-V Review

Safety features on the 2007 Honda CR-V are standard across the three trim levels, and include front, and front-side airbags which detect the presence or absence of a shotgun passenger, as well as side-curtain airbags for head protection, and a rollover sensor. In addition, there are side-impact door beams, three-point safety belts for the driver and all passengers, anti-lock brakes, and a skid prevention system, as well as daytime running lights.

Each trim level is available as 2- or 4-wheel drive, and all sport an in-line 4-cylinder 166 horsepower engine. Likewise, all trim levels come with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Standard exterior features include timed front and rear windshield wipers, remote entry, tinted glass, and power side windows.

The CR-V's standard interior features include environmental cooler, power windows and door locks, throttle control, and an adjustable steering column. Comfort features extend to include a total of eight cup holders, upper and lower glove compartments, under-seat and side-pocket storage bins, and at least two power outlets (three in the highest trim level). As well, mp3-compatible cd players, and mp3 player jacks are standard across all trims.

Combine all these features with estimated mileage of 22 mpg (city) and 28 (highway), and an MSRP that starts at just $20,600, and you've got the 2007 Honda CR-V, a sporty SUV suitable for almost any buyer.

2007 Honda Civic Sedan Review

The 2007 Honda Civic is available as the familiar coupe the line began with, updated for 2007, as well as a sedan that debuted in fall, 2006. Both come in three different trim levels featuring a 140hp in-line 4 cylinder engine, 5-speed manual transmission (with 5-speed automatic available as an option). In addition, the Civic Si is available as either a coupe or sedan with a 197hp engine and a 6-speed manual transmission, and there is also a hybrid sedan, featuring a 100hp 4-cylinder engine in combination with an electric one.

Safety features standard across the line include shoulder-strap seatbelts for every seat, multi-stage front and and front-side airbags, and noggin-saving side-curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, pedestrian-alerting lights, and tethers and anchors for child seats.

Standard exterior features include tinted windows, timed windshield wipers, and hidden window antenna, while interior features standard across the line include power windows, adjustable steering columns, front and rear cup holders, at least one power outlet, and drivers footrests.

Environmental freshener, CD players, mp3 player outputs, throttle control, and map lights are available on the 2007 Honda Civic as options on higher trim levels and come standard with the Si models and the hybrid.

2007 Honda Accord Sedan Review

With more than five different trim levels to choose from, there is a different 2007 Honda Accord for almost every driver. Non-hybrids (front-engine, front-wheel drive) come with a 166hp 4 cylinder engine or a 244 hp V-6, while the hybrid features a 237 hp V-6 in combination with a 16hp electric motor. Transmission options include 5-speed automatic and 5- or 6-speed manual.

Even the Accord's "value" trim level is packed with comforts and conveniences. Air conditioning, steering columns with tilting and telescoping functions, and cruise control are standard across the line, as are power windows and door locks, intermittent windshield wipers, front and rear cup holders (minimum of six), and fold-down rear seat-backs. Other standard features are lights for the cargo area, rear-window defrost, and at least one power outlet.

The hybrid sedan has additional standard features that are also available on more expensive trim levels on the standard sedan and coupe, like dual-zone climate control, map-lights, sunglass holders, coin boxes, and a power moon-roof.

The Accord has always been well-rated for fuel economy, and the 2007 line is no different, averaging 24/26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, with the 6-speed V6 coming in with slightly lower numbers (20 city/31 highway), and the Hybrid a bit higher, with estimated mpg of 28 city/35 highway.

With all of these features, easy drivability, excellent steering and prices comparable to the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, the 2007 Honda Accord is an excellent choice for long or short commutes, and every-day use.

2008 Honda Accord Hybrid Review

The 2008 Honda Accord Hybrid has not been the most popular of the currently available hybrid automobiles to date, but it does get excellent highway mileage in a larger package than most fuel efficient sedans. For an MSRP range of $31,685 to $33,685 you can expect to get about 28 mpg around town, but an impressive 35 out on the open road.

The Accord Hybrid is equipped with a sturdy V6 and a battery-powered electric unit that in theory gives the main engine an assist during acceleration. This arrangement worked great with the first Insight and Civic hybrids Honda introduced, but the Accord's V6 works so well it doesn't need any help from the electric motor. It is this choice of hybrid configurations that keeps the Accord Hybrid from operating at full hybrid capability.

A positive, however, is that the engine does have a VCM or "Variable Cylinder Management" system. This means that when less demand is placed on the engine three of the six cylinders are deactivated - hence the great mileage on the highway. With the contribution from its electric motor, the Accord Hybrid merits inclusion in the Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) emissions category.

In terms of trim, the Accord is a comfortable, full-featured sedan with all the amenities you'd expect for the price. In an emerging class of hybrid vehicles, the 2008 Honda Accord Hybrid midsize sedan contributes modestly to environmental health by its use of hybrid technology. Being noted for its excellent emission control in EPA tests, the Honda Accord scored 8/10 in greenhouse gas emissions,

2008 Honda Civic Hybrid Review

For the environmentally conscious family, the 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid is an attractive and serviceable four-door with room for five. Expect to pay between $22,600 and $24,350. For the money, you're getting a 1.3-liter I4 hybrid engine producing 110 horsepower. That translates to an impressive 49 mpg in town and 51 out on the road.

Some reviewers find that the automatic engine shut-off produces jerky transitions during start and stop driving and some complain of a lack of that feeling of power from the gasoline engine. Both of these faults, if you choose to call them that, are nothing more than the growing pains of an emerging class of hybrid vehicles. With gas prices on the rise, most drivers will be more than willing to put up with a little jerkiness to achieve the Civic's impressive mileage figures.

Inside, the 2008 Civic Hybrid offers plenty of features to thrill the tech savvy driver from voice-controlled navigation to Bluetooth connectivity. Simply put, you're not making a compromise to drive a Civic Hybrid and you are making a contribution with a vehicle that has beautifully low emissions and stunning mileage performance. Honda has a winner in this one.

No matter whether you are in love with the performance quirks and small size of the Civic Hybrid or not, there remains one, indisputable piece of data. The 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid is one of the world's least polluting cars. The EPA test for air pollution on the Civic was 9/10, and 10/10 for greenhouse gas emissions. And after all, is there any more compelling reason for owning a hybrid?

2007 GMC Yukon Review

The included OnStar system will be automatically notified of the deployment of the air bags. Entry with a remote and a system to monitor the pressure of the air in the tires (with data posted to a centrally located information system) are also standard features.

The 2007 GMC Yukon includes a standard AM/FM combo with the ability to play back MP3 and to use CDs as a standard feature on the SLE. Drivers of the SLT gain a changer in the dash capable of handling six discs. Premium entertainment options include XM Satellite Radio and a DVD playback unit for the rear seat.
